A Roman table in Pacific Grove

A Roman table in Pacific Grove

Il Vecchio is a Roman-style Italian trattoria in Pacific Grove, shaped by warm rooms, handmade pasta, and a long love of Italian cooking. It still feels personal, the way a neighborhood table should.

How we started

Founder Carl Alasko built Il Vecchio after ten years living in Rome and falling hard for the rhythm of a true trattoria. With his daughter Ariele, he helped shape the room with recycled wood gathered from historic buildings, churches, and barns across the country.

Il Vecchio remains one of those places people come back to in Monterey County and Pacific Grove. The space is warm, a little worn in, and made for lingering over dinner.
